To bring in the new year I was invited to a 1920’s theme party and of course this was right up my street! I looked at endless iconic images, looking at how women styled their hair and make-up. I decided to go for a dark lip and pale skin with sculptured cheeks and kept my eyes light with plenty of mascara. I found a sequin head band from H&M and added my grandmothers antique brooch to the centre. I have long hair and a lot of women back then had very short hair often pulled back or flattened to the head. I sectioned my hair and tucked it through the head bang creating the effect that my hair was shorter and curled up under the band.
I wore a pair of my vintage valentine black and silver earrings which suited the style perfectly and added plenty of sparkle. My dress from Debinhams was a soft grey sequin and beaded pinafore dress. I felt so glamorous. I think this style works for so many people. To finish the look I wore a faux fur coat and shoes to match my lip colour. Feather boa and cigarette holder from a costume store.
I have planned to take many photos for the blog this year highlighting many of the vintage styles I love and share them with you. Lets hope for sunny days ahead.
